Eliminate Tetanus 5K Run/Walk September 15th

The Eliminate Project

Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating — tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.

On Sunday, September 15th, the Mariemont High School Key Club is hosting an Eliminate 5K race with all proceeds benefitting this worthy project. Walkers, runners and people of all ages are welcome to register for the race, which begins at 9:00AM at Mariemont High School. The route will wind its way through the historic sites in Mariemont and be followed by a delicious brunch and a range of fun activities.
