Village Church of Mariemont Acquires Historic Building

There is a new church building in the Historic District of our community that was recently acquired by the Village Church of Mariemont.  Founded by Pastor Todd Keyes three years ago, FullShield2Colorthis more traditional-style church was established with the desire to meet the spiritual needs of residents in the context of our unique village. Pastor Keyes’ calling to Christian ministry developed while he was a student at Mariemont High School and the University of Cincinnati.  This led to receiving a Master of Divinity degree at Trinity Seminary and working for over a decade in student ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ, ending as Campus Director at Kent State University.  He returned to his hometown as Associate Pastor of a local church where he served for ten years in worship, youth and outreach ministries.  When the opportunity arose to start a new church in the Village, Pastor Keyes did not hesitate.  “Like the founders of our Village, I believe that providing for the spiritual needs of this community is of the utmost importance,” he explained.  “I have long been called to serve the people of Mariemont, and I am excited about the opportunities this new ministry will provide.”  Pastor IMG_3239Keyes says his desire is “to present sound Biblical teaching in a way that is relevant to the needs of today.”  Asked about the people who attend the Village Church, the pastor is enthusiastic. “What you will find in our church are genuine people who are seeking to grow in relationship with God, to experience vibrant worship, to participate in authentic community, and to help meet the various needs of others.  The bottom line is: we desire to love God and people of all ages, and to serve the community and world around us.”

Todd is ably supported by his wife, Jamie, who is qualified in elementary education and widely experienced in children’s ministry.  The new church meets every Sunday morning at 10:00 in their newly acquired building on the corner of Oak and Maple Streets.  Further information is available on the church’s website: villagechurchofmariemont.org
