A a big “thank you” to all of our special guests on Veterans Day! Dozens of veterans came to visit with and speak to students at Mariemont Elementary. The students displayed Veterans Day related artwork and projects around the building and the PTO hosted a breakfast for our special guests. Thank you for visiting us, and thank you for keeping us safe and serving our country!
Veterans Day is Tuesday the 11th of November. In recent years, Nancy Bisbe, the former outstanding Middle School librarian in the Mariemont School System, has interviewed dozens of Greater Mariemont residents that fought in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam. These interviews offer first hand fascinating insights into these conflicts. Many of these veterans still live in the Mariemont School community and are your neighbors. The Mariemont City School District Veterans History Project is an official partner of the Library of Congress where the videos are permanently stored.
