The Barn Turns 90 this year!
The Annual Campaign is in Full Swing
The building which houses The Woman’s Art Club Cultural Center, fondly known as “The Barn”, turns 90 this year! If you have visited the Barn you have seen the amazing transofmration that ha taken place under direction of the Woman’s Art Club of Cincinnati Foundatin. Due to the tireless efforts of friends, volunteers and generous donors, the vision of a few has become the reality of many.
The next stage of the transformation is twofold. The exterior of the building needs new paint and a new roof, and the vision for the “hayloft” is to create a space for performing arts as well as other art instruction.
Our 2014 campaign is designed to both maintain and enhance our venerable 90 year old building. We ask you to please consider a donation to the Woman’s Art Club Foundation to ensure that the barn will continue operating for another 90 years as a vibrant cultural center serving the Cincinnati Community. The Barn – currently known as the WAC Cultural Center – was originally built by Mary Emery to “serve the community at large”. Erected in 1924, Hubert Reeves designed the Barn to serve the farm and livestock of the growing community.

We hold classes, meetings, and workshops in the “milking” area of the Barn and the “tack room”. The Barn Proper is now a state-of-the-art Gallery and the “horse stalls” provide studio space for working artists. Summer Camp, artisan showcases, and ongoing cultural programming filled the calendar this past year.

No barn would be complete without a hayloft, and the WACC Cultural Center has one waiting for reconstruction. The possibilities for use of this space seem endless, and will expand our ability to host educational programs and cultural experiences. |
